Keeping Out the Cold...

Behind the blanket the window does leak,

The cold and snow making life bleak,

Warmth slipping through the cracks,

To keep warm I am eating snacks…

Singled-paned are the windows on my world,

My flags in the breeze remain unfurled,

The moon is out but the clouds do my sight hinder,

The earth due to warming may one day turn to a cinder…

Memories of an acid trip on the beach,

God was there & his angels were within reach,

He kept it warm so he could of me teach,

The cold now does sneak through the cracks,

Bringing with it an un-earthly screech…

Heres a hint. Get some plexiglass cut the size of your windows and glue them in place or even velcro them. It
ll keep the heat inside. Keep warm.

Susan

Cool write, try to stay warm, it sure is cold here! It's about ten degrees this morning, got to go warm the jeep up before heading out this early cold, cold morning...we don't have the snow yet! Looking at two to four inches tomorrow, but you know that typical for Kentucky, it's been amazing what has been going on with the weather this year in other places! I agree with CJ, try the hot chocolate or coffee does it for me! Write on my friend, this was a wonderful write!
Blessings,

Are you living in your camper this winter, Ed? Geez oh man, that would be cold! I can't imagine living in my 5th wheel, but maybe it's different from a big camper. Break out the hot chocolate with marshmallows, sweet poet, and write some more!
Love,
CJ

And you could have lived in my outhouse - I put thermalpane windows in there! But sadly, the Pooper Scooper Position at the Sanctuary has now been filled. Bro.

Nice poem. Nice picture. If that picture is representative of where you live- it's hard to imagine it being cold there. Maybe yer just having a flashback. lol Take another hit. lol
