Please wake me when the spring comes,
when green spires pierce the earth, and
life is on the bough.
When early morning mists flee before the
early morning suns.
When new born calves are licked by a
affectionate mothering cow.
Please wake me when the summers here,
when Buttercups are blazing with all the
When bees hum all day long thus pleasing
a listening ear.
When Skylark sends back its merry song
from high above chapel towers.
Please wake me when autumns colours
upon trees and bush, when berries delight
Upon each spreading branch, tinted children
leave, their lives to end
upon the woods carpeted ground, where each
must forever lie.
Upon my bed of grass and mosses, safe in my
