Dear Blue, Happy Valentines Day February 14,2007
A Poem For Blue
There is Blue,
I know her,
I met her,
we connected sometime ago,
but lost contact.
Oh how I wanted to let her know.
We were alike in many ways,
for she was intense with her thoughts,
her dreams and her praise.
She liked my garden,
my flowers brand new.
for I invited a few friends over
for a little barbaque.
There she was brought to my house
so that I could meet my future spouse.
She brought imfamous potato salad that was great,
she made it herself and thats why she was late.
I was attracted to her right off the bat,
but never thought she would go for that.
For you see, I had just got back from being lost in a storm
as I had traveled far away from home.
I followed my heart, but my heart got broken
by my wife of five years and many tokens.
I was back home and starting a new life.
Blue was pretty with her long blond hair,
sitting in my backyard in old lawn chair.
Her green eyes and blond hair were shining in the sun,
while my dog Hunter insisted on biting on.
Two years went by and I thought of Blue from time to time,
Where did she live,
What was her e-mail,
All that got lost when the computer crashed.
I really had like her, and I thought that we might have made a good match.
‘Chances’ was premiering the l-word and sure enough
I turned around and there was Blue,
that same long blond hair shining under the bar light,
but another woman was hugging her and I did not want to fight.
I needed to reconnect with Blue, as I thought about her, and there she was
I walked up to her and gave her a great big hug.
I felt her warmth, and her style and knew right then, and her beautiful smile.
She was happy to see me, she did not have to say a word, for I could tell.
She gave me her number, just like that, and I placed it where it would not get lost.
I thought of Blue every day for weeks, then gave her call, and reconnected, for fate is a wonderful thing you see, now there is a Blue and me.
>>>Isn't that the sweetest thing?
