On nights when I'm feeling well

I have a dream, one of a kind

It can't be bought- its not for sell

God gave it to me, it is mine.

I go back again to a childhood

To live deep in the pine

In such depths that the wildwood

Creeps around my home in vine

Over and above my door

Inch by inch- maybe more.

Wild birds come to feed off my hand

Their songs I come to understand

And among them freely soar

Happier than I've ever been before.

The knowing that leered a life time in my eyes

The words that lay a life time on my tongue

Are one with all that in a life time dies

When the praise of mankind is over sung-

And I know again the starry skies

As I once did when worlds were young

With the soul for whom my passion cries

As when we first begin...

The childhood of our existence that is a journey through space and time is reflected in your poem, covering many lifetimes in many places and times. Gradually over eons of linear time we approach The Light over bizarre paths that head in many directions, but on aggregate inevitably toward our source and destiny.

How refreshing to hear someone say that they had a childhood so wonderful that they visit it again in dreams! Your parents would be so proud to know they gave you such good, precious memories of your youth. Childhood is so precious, it stays with us the rest of our lives. Great write, Judy. I salute you!
