Faces Of Love Part 1
By La Belle Rouge
He watched her on the playground... all elbows, bony knees and skinny legs. Her ponytail tied with a pink ribbon. its silky, long threads that shone like new money in the sunlight and bounced side to side when she ran. He thought she was stuck up but he liked the way her eyes sparkled when she found a baby bird in the bushes and cradled it tenderly in her hands. “”Sissy,” he thought but it made him feel all fuzzy and warm inside.
She stole little glimpses at him but only when he wasn’t looking. The way he stood with his hands stuffed into his pockets, he seemed tall and in control of his world. The way he sometimes hit the ball over the wire fence into the woods. The smattering of freckles over his nose and the way his hair fell into his eyes when the winter wind blew during recess. She thought he was wild and impolite but she loved to hear him laugh. It made her feel a thrill of freedom.
Would there be more...someday Perhaps so, perhaps never but today, though they don’t know the seeds of love are planted in the admiration of a shinning ponytail and a tender care of a fallen creature. In the laughter, strength, assurance and wild impoliteness of a boy's freedom. Two faces of love, if only for a day.

... What is UP with me???!! This absolutely takes my breath away and touches me just so deeply... Think I must have a massive, unearthed power-point deep in my subconscious somewhere that makes a mighty connection with this, Belle. I adore it, especially:
She thought he was wild and impolite
but she loved to hear him laugh.
It made her feel a thrill of freedom.
And that gleaming ponytail thing is totally spot on... Bless you for this. It is for real. TY Kate xx
