A poem about Christmas lights

They wait in the attic;
Hibernating.
Much like a bear would,
Only during the opposite season.
Waiting;
Waiting to be set free,
Free from their dusty prison.
Ready to be placed on the tree,
Or outside along the gutters.
They're ready to burn,
To burn with a purpose,
And they do so,
In the ever wonderful colors of
Green, red, pink, orange, blue,
And then often a simple white.
But all to soon;
They must return to their den,
And wait for Christmas to come again.
