For my Dad ... I love you, Daddy.

New Love

Dusty boxes in the yard
for trash pick-up today.
His first love died some years ago,
hes finally throwing things away.

Its time to move along now,
a new loves moving in.
So bittersweet, his feelings,
he thought hed never love again.

His old love has a new home,
in his memories, shell stay
not in dusty boxes in the yard
for trash pick-up today.

CJ,

A truly touching piece. It must do your heart good, to see him go forward now...even though his loss, was your own great loss, too.

You are a wonderful daughter and a blessing to him, I am sure. May he be very happy.

Love&Hugs, Rhonda

Great poem, CJ. I recently have been debating on throwing some old things out myself. You put this very eloquently.

I love daughter to father tributes - probably in part because I am a father of a loving daughter. Be this as it may, there is something very special about a daughter/father relationship.
We have friends on the Isle of Bute, just off the West of Scotland. They are a couple in their sixties. It is touching to hear Janet too fondly refer to her late father as 'Daddy'. One could almost hear the distant, little girl's voice inside break through.

Captivating.

This is a truly loving write for someone who cares so much for their father that they want to see him happy in life. Often children are resentful of parents who remarry but you happiness for your father glows in this write. Puttin aside the effects of someone you need is quite difficult but it sure helps to have your kind of support. He is blessed to have you for his "little" girl.
