Cowboy ride the wild
bustin broncs and roundin strays
whisper in their ears
A herd of cattle
needin driving
So saddle up

rope em & ride em
hard from sunup to sundown
Cowboy you’re a sundowner
so start a mesquite fire
heat up some Joe
a kettle of beef steak and beans
Tales told in the firelight
Old timers stretching it long
laughing and snortin

Have a smoke
Lay out your bedroll
Cowboy dream of horses
bustin broncs and herdin strays
Fire’s dyin slow
add a little more mesquite
Cowboy ride the wild

Dale, this is very good -- one can almost 'see' through your words -- what more could be asked of a writer? Well done and a pleasure.

At times we get an original, an authenic work, and this is a wonderful sample. Thankew Cowboy! It's a good one. - Bill

I love this poem Dale, made me feel like I was a cowboy sittin round the campfire at end of day. The images are alive!

Love this image, Dale, in an, as per your usual, image-rich poetic canvas. This sums up the whole mood and psyche of your far-seeing, rough-neck dreamers, gathered within their own lassoos of delight, telling tall tales and takin short breaks. Fabulous portrayal. TY Kate xx
