Many of us have expressed great concern about global warming. Britain is taking steps reduce it and if new legislation is passed, it will begin next year.

The British government proposed new legislation Tuesday that would set legally binding, long term limits
on carbon emissions.

The climate change bill would be the first legislation in an industrilized country to spell out long range goals,
including a carbon budget that would
be set every five yrs to cap co2 levels and report on its progress as far as 2050.

The bill must be approved by both houses of Parliament to become law, and if passed would start next year.

The bill calls for emissions to be
reduced by 32% by 2020, and 60% by 2050. Some feel the reduction should be as much as 90% by 2050.

Tony Blair hopes Britian along with Germany, which holds the European Union and Group Of Eight Presidencies,
can lead work on a global pact to curb

EU agreed last week that the bloc will produce 20% of its power through
renewable energy.

The next step would be getting the United States, China and India to make similar commitments.

Let's put some pressure on our congessmen, senators, state and local officals to help save our country, our planet and mankind, before it's
too late!
