I lie under the cover of darkness and count the seconds as they go by.
I allow my mind to drift lazily into the wonderful state of euphoria in which I lie.
My mind is focused on nothing; nor does it want to be.
It has been a long busy day and my thoughts only want to be free.
I lie under the cover of darkness and hear only the sound of the night.
As I relax I hear my own breath with eyes closed for they want no light.
Soon soft dark clouds will envelope me and I will drift off to wondrous sleep.
I have prayed to my God to watch over me as into the dark cloud I creep.
I lie under the cover of darkness; a wonderful journey I will take.
My body relaxes and my senses are dull and I enter a dreamless state.
This time of rest is Godís gift to me and my dreams are quiet and kind.
They are made up as a composition and processed by my own mind.
I lie under the cover of darkness but I am not unaware of its existence.
As I am carried off into dreamland my mind gives no resistance.
Sleep, oh body and mind and let the Spirit rest, too.
Let this wonderful state of rest last the whole night through.
