From a Vampire's point of view !

I wait for your silent coming,
here in the day's soft light.
Yearing for the blackness,
that invades the lonely night.

Cover me in your shroud
and beneath it, I will hide.
Unable to tolerate the day,
for its light, I can't abide.

Mine is a colorless world.
Tis not the domain of men.
In the night I hunt my prey,
upon this darkened land.

The animals of this ebony realm
are at my beck and call.
I rule here as their mighty prince,
from behind a castle's wall.

My powers are many and great.
For I command the wind and sea,
changing into an owl or a wolf
or anything else, I choose to be.

Centuries have come and gone,
yet still in darkness, I do remain.
By drinking the blood of motals,
my unholy life will be sustained.

As the dark shadows of night,
begin to turn into the sun's rays,
I hasten toward my chamber,
to escape the light of day.

But soon the night will come again.
To be in its sanctuary,I aspire.
For the darkness will give me life,
but steal the soul, of a vampire.
