Life isn't easy but, it is never boring.
As time goes by, we start to see,
that life isn't what, we thought it would be.
As an infant we didn't need much,
just a bottle of milk and mother's touch.
As children, our wants were simple enough,
but as teenagers, life got awful rough.
Then came adulthood with paths to choose.
Pick the wrong one and you, could lose.
Suddenly you find you're in love
and life seems to fit, much like a glove.
On marriage, you're placing your bet.
Ah, but life isn't finished with you yet.
You have two kids and one on the way
and the car blew up, yesterday.
The job gone, with one ring of the phone.
Now you'll just have to sell, your home.
When you start to get on your feet,
your mate decides to turn up the heat.
Yes, love has slowly lost its way.
Now there are divorce lawyers, to pay.
The kids are in college and seem ok
and a new spouse has come your way.
Given a raise and a new office too,
now life seems much better to you.
Grandchildren burst forth like rain.
Now you're dealing with arthritis pain.
Living on a limited income,
doesn't make living, very much fun.
So remember it's the simple things,
that carry us through, what time brings.
A rose,a dog or a walk in the park,
give us joy and lighten the dark.
