THis is the kind of men I used to meet...

Dont give me that tired old line
About how things would have been different
If wed met at a different time or place
How you would have loved me
If you had only been ready
How this just isnt the right time for you
And you wouldnt want to cheat me
You dont want to offer me less
Than I really deserve
And Id be better off with nothing
Than half of you
Dont expect me to buy it
Or just smile as you walk away
After all
You promised me forever
And I only got a month
Or less

Wow! Talk about "to THE point." Ahem... I have been on the receiving end of THIS conversation a few too many times! -- Jeff

This is excellent, Sue -- you've voiced what we've all heard a time or two in our lives, male or female. In truth, I guess there's no easy way to let someone down gently -- if we care, it's going to hurt. Very well done and a pleasure to read.

Great job !! I wonder how often those very words have been spoken.
Your version sums it up in a nutshell.

Thank you,

A write that is true for many other women as well, I've heard other women talk about similar remarks. Well written my friend!

I had to grin a bit as I read this one for I will be honest I have used a few of those lines myself back when I was in the dating game but...
in all fairness I also heard those same lines spokent to me a time or two by some lady or the other. It think though with men the dating game is also the "see if I can get laid" game so they tend to be more picky when it comes down to cimmittment.
Anyway just so you know you are not alone...we were all there at one time or another.

Ha-Ha, then I'm smart 'cause I'm 63 and single. Outstanding work of art.

Thank you Sue.
