How must He feel,
Two thousand years hence?
The coddled keepers
Of His own creation,
Know not the density of His truth.

Morality was in the mix,
Once upon a time,
But one by one
Weíve rewritten the rules,
Keeping only those
That suit us best.

Are you there,
Watching us,
From the surface of the sun?
Are you angry this day,
In a solar storm,
With goodness on the run?

Itís true , you know,
That it is as simple as it sounds,
The Savior of the whole human race,
Suffered, died, and was buried,
And on the third day,
He rose again from the ground.

There is majesty in simplicity,
And in two thousand years
The rules havenít changed.
I worry for you,
And sometimes me too,
When we treat this precious life,
Like it was nothing more than a game.
