A Pebble

Man has been trying, Oh! how he has been trying...from Babel's tower to the conquering of the astronomical universe.
But, Man couldn't make any of his "miracles" to be a genuine one, no matter how feverishly he works at it.
The after-hours philosophy sounds like this...

By sowing a little pebble
you can't expect it to grow
big, heavy and strong
like Australia's Ayers Rock,

or, that grounding down
that big rock with fever,
will ever make it...
a genuine pebble.

Oh but how we can always make believe!
So true the distinction between the genuine vs.
the synthetic and how we can never come close!
Enjoyed reading Georg~ So glad to be back!

This has an Oriental mystical quality to it. Universal in nature, while keeping what humans can, and cannot do, in clear perspective.

Light and Wisdom ...

I have to second Ed's thoughts, dear Georg. Adding, however, that, as tiny pebbles that we are in the great scheme of things, we must never lose our perception of the ripples each one of us makes, when cast on the immense "pool" of the Universe - and do our best so such ripples will be positive for the Whole. A poem as concise as it is full of wisdom. Muito obrigada.

Georg,
Amen! Men can never accomplish what God can. They may try but they can't. Outstanding poetry, my friend.

Many blessings,

Some days I think the true miracle is that man is still inspired by thoughts of his own in a age where computers could figure anything out. That some people still wake up with new ideas to pursue . Good thought this morning from you George. Lady J

I doubt that mankind will ever be as smart as it likes to think it is. Maybe that's why Mother Nature periodically lets us know who's really in charge.
