the mood of the poem aside - happy Friday to everyone.

i'm torn and twisted; burnt and blistered...

now all i can do is barely crawl...

and why am i... the one
left crying
with no one near me;
nobody there... to hear me call?

i'm so afraid this isn't random
it's exactly what i've dreaded

sometimes i wonder
if i'm headed...
for yet another graceless fall...

and so i wander, lost, abandoned
wondering... was it worth
the pain and suffering... after all?

i feel so broken
split and shattered
spilled into a billion pieces

i try so hard to pick them up...
but i just can't find
a place to start

so ripped and shredded

Sometimes i wonder
exactly where i'm headed.
i'm just so tired of...
trying to interpret my heart

i miss our fire; unbound releases...
now i'm so cold; it's getting old...

i can't see past the blurs and creases
no one to have; no one to hold...

we were here; and now we're gone...
and where'd we go... I just don't know

and why am i... the one
left crying
with no one near me;
nobody there... to hear me call?

i'm so afraid this isn't random
it's exactly what i've dreaded

sometimes i wonder
if i'm headed...
for yet another graceless fall...

and so i wander, lost, abandoned
wondering... was it worth
the pain and suffering... after all?

Jeff, I think this is an amazing song...it needs desperately to be sung and not from the words of your pen. Someone needs to discover this...get it out to the right people. I think you have a winner here even though I know it sings of a ravaged heart. It looks like all the ladies are ready to catch you if you are falling...
Love,
Taylor

This song captured a lot your heart is feeling Jeff!
Your friends are HERE!
Know that dear!
Reach out and we aren't far!
We care and you know this I swear!
Your poem hit home to a lot of lonely sad souls!
This is a gem I will keep!
Thank you for sharing this offering Jeff!

a heart torn, ...there are few things more painful as it has such a wide and far-reaching effect in so many areas of life. That persistent ache you have captured superbly well. Bravo. Panda :)

Jeff you need not feel abandoned my dear! Not with so many friends here, and me to catch you! ;0)

Such a sad and haunting piece that you have penned here so very well! I am glad to be able to read your work again my dear friend!

I think each of us must decide that for ourselves, Jeff, and I think most of us have felt the same at certain times in our lives, I know I have.

Quite powerful, and wishing you a Happy Friday, too.

One need not pick up all the pieces that have shattered all around. Leave them shed like a winters coat. Then one never has extra baggage from the past. Hence next time one falls it shall be gracefully. Good write on how the mind dreads the future based on the past. Lady J
