I sang for a hard rock band for 13 years {Chantuez} along with a few other bands for most of my life this is a part of it. A part of my life! Photograph of Theresa Koch.

Just a ghost of myself wades through
Thick air hanging, visions once knew
Smoke screen air and stale perfume
Drunken friends wander through
Mirrors and razor blades in the room
Another reminder of friends I knew
Jim Morrison sings a stunning tune
Someone's swaying in the other room
Clove cigarette pads my lips
Not having met emphysema yet
Laughter ringing in the air
Its four am but we don't care
While I continue to slink on through
A ghost of myself in this neon room

Wow your life wrapped in the lyrics of this poem sing a song of memories...maybe not all good, not all bad but your own special and unique ones that you should treasure. Time erases the youth of our bodies but cannot if we do not allow it to...steal the youth of our hearts and minds. I think you are still a brilliant songwriter and this poem is a great example.

Blessed are the ones that found the healthy way to life.

I have enjoyed the reading of "Just a Ghost of Myself". A poetic task fully performed and delivered.

In gratitude and admiration,

I salute You, Poet.

You sound so sad, so down. Yet a life unfamiliar with most. Looking back on days gone by, yet a whole life in front. Go forward, trust in God, life is glorious!!!

Be safe,

You ROCK~ Kewl beans! BRAVA, Therese; a side of you I never knew existed! (I personally don't care for hard rock*, but I am glad you did it; bet you were good! :) )

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D

*Like a few songs by "KISS", but I can take hard rock in small doses. *grins*
