According to renowned cellular biologist Bruce Lipton, the conscious mind can process 2000 bits of information per second. The unconscious however is processing four billion bits per second. That is a two million to one ratio. If you want to change an unconscious belief or limitation through conscious affirmation, it is like arguing with two million people who are convinced that you are wrong. You might as well try to reverse a tidal wave by shooting at it with a water pistol

the clouds had been many and days dark and heavy

you said the darkness had won, in the battle of light vs dark

for often we looked at that way

the bow slid over the untuned strings of the violin

playing inside my head and my spine curled lemon twist sour and squeezed

suffering appeared; observing the tormented souls; complainers, whiners,

depressed diseased by their own insatiable minds teasing, taunting and

scolding thoughts eating away alive the external flesh

repetitive cycles of past sorrow re-run for the hundredth million time

the mind a prisoner by its own heart so full of what it believes it has learned

it can no longer receive anything new

days gone past the sun emerges into warmth and I say the light extends

upon the solar winds, for my mind believes in its dreams

the ivory keys gently blended a higher scale upon the piano playing inside my head and my spine stretched lithe and willow

knowledge was growing downloads of higher consciousness coming with the speed of light available to every being to evolve bliss and joy as told our natural state accompanied by cycles of healing and upliftment within its energy harmony, cooperation, and compassion

lighthearted outlooks of possibility projected, created, intended the mind busy with future potential and imagined scenarios subjected to judgement and pitfalls of comprehension PollyAnna can not survive outside its ideal and so too becomes imprisoned in a fantasy world overrun by the subconscious of the masses

planets transit and the earth orbits and the lunar cycles continue round, perhaps if we agreed to integrate the balance of both light and dark?

inside my mind the breaking string upon a guitar twangs with painful concern

the integration of dark and light is emotional and physical suffering a volley of shifting layers taxing experience into a manic mania, tension erupts for control, the being heaved into paradigm shifts and reality checks like a restless sea swelled and crested then undertowed and dragged upon the underworld,  although, it is true if survived, the intensity of the integration would send healing energy far into distant pasts altering the current of todaysí news

all the while, however, the enlightened masters laugh at us, knowing our blight is all in our minds and we are controlled by our ceaseless thoughts and mind chatter, they watch our manifested experience seeing its relativity, our perfect nature buried beneath layers of psychological developed patterns dominated by unconscious motivations

divinity is beyond our primitive ideals, it is the knowing of true freedom, the perfection of the human being equipped with the skills of Buddha or Christ

it is written and taught in every belief and religion on the planet all the tools to enlighten ourselves,  they say and encourage us to evolve and help shift the world, with the freedom to choose being  the rule, it all begins inside each personal world

to be free of the mind is to be enlightened

free of the mind" it would be nice to get rid of stuff we don't want to remember, maybe clean the brain out

I love the duallism you have employed here to show us the tandem working of mind and spirit, Debby. Reading this sound didactic proposition, the interplay between the "concreteness" of mind and the "music" of spirit enables us to absorb what you're saying through the experience of both. Very cleverly conceived and written and a fascinating postulation! Sounds and feels WONDERFUL!! :)) Kate xx

Outstanding presentation of a philosophic-poetic concept of mankind understanding of
"repetitive cycles"... A composition that stimulates awareness and lead one's mind to the nourishing station.

Hi Debby - yes, and i love the fossil wood and the travelling through your well penned words. i suppose for me its all about how to walk along the passionate journey here, up mountains and meditating on what to do with the (sometimes) hard fought for, and gently given, freedom found. Balancing the teacher/student relationship within is where enlightenment is found, in the freer mind, and 'to be free of the mind'...? Well, may be...i'll meditate on it :), but i think i might have to wait for my physical death for that question to be....not answered by me! Oh these questions are interesting, and i really got a lot form your words, as always - i'm listening... Nicky, teacher on study leave, student, poet type, writer, youngster at heart x Hope you are well, thank you x:)

First, the picture: fossilized redwood the most beautiful wood color and patterns you will ever find. Northern California- Oregon.

Second, Review: this article make me remember Josť Feliciano's singing "the windmills of your mind", yes, the mind as a million secrets yet to be revealed.
The sci-fi of yesterday is coming slowly into reality.
A mind boggling article.
Thanks

A great article Debby!.. THE mind is a curious thing. Each is unique, yet sometimes others can control it by thoughts, deeds, suggestions.
I agree , religon does play an important part in our lives and if we open our hearts to God, he'll help!...M

Debby we think alike!;-) Remarkable wisdom you have given us to ponder! I so agree with your last line! It is similar to losing oneself to find oneself...Dying to self has always been the main
road to spiritual enlightenment. Splendid work Deb!

Great write Debby. If only more people understood - "You might as well try to reverse a tidal wave by shooting at it with a water pistol.." there'd be a lot less frustration in this world of humans.
