I have lived in Florida many years, yet I still miss the green mountains of Vermont, especially in the spring and summer months.

I miss the valleys of
green and lofty mountain ranges.

I miss the rustling of fall
leaves with their color changes

I miss the sparkling waters
of cool mountain streams

I miss the ponds and lakes,
and quiet village scenes

I miss the fields of flowers
and new mowed hay

I miss county fairs and
and lazy summer days

I'm heading home as fast as
can to see it all today, for:

Vermont is where my heart
is. Its where I'll stay,
to live in the green mountains
forever and a day

I can understand why you would miss such a wonderful place as Vermont. I do not wish to live anywhere else but here and for that, I am grateful indeed. Thank you for sharing MaryGrace. Love and peace to you,

There really is "No place like home". I was born and grew up in Virginia and even though, I find beauty in all the places on Earth which God has created, no matter how far I roam, Virginia always pulls at my heart strings. I know Vermont will always pull at yours.

You are making me wish I was there, especially in the fall when the leaves on the maple trees turn colors. Absolutely lovely!

Reminds me of my northwood, and I don't think I could ever leave it. My mother and brother moved to Florida, but I need my four seasons!

I've never been to Vermont but after reading this, I'm tempted to visit. I've visited a number of places in the States that took my breath away but this sounds really special. It's no wonder you miss it. Thanks for sharing such enticing poetry.

PS: I think this would make such a wonderful song.

I miss Ohio, and I miss...BASEMENTS. The changing of the seasons. The cold. The snow. The green hills and lush trees. Get me OUTTA Texas; I HATE it here!!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :(

Feeling shellshocked from the severe weather threat--and NO freakin' basements to go to when it DOES turn severe! Pray for us....
