We Breathe, Then Breath Is Gone

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Give Me This Moment
By La Belle Rouge
give me your hidden heat, burn me
but first, gift me with your thoughts
open wide to me the gates of your soul
embrace my spirit within yours
drift back with me on the tides of time
back to etched memories of other days,
other shores, and forgotten names
before lifetimes were swiftly ending
when our faces were yet unlined
before ebony and copper strands
were laced with silver threads
give me all your bad boy passion
your roguishness and sensuality
the part that causes you to speak
those unspeakable things a “Lady”
would be shocked to hear in public
give me rough, work worn hands
that have handled more than a pen
being self-taught in tough skills of life
and the tender art of making love
hands that won’t take “no” for an answer
insistent lips that kiss me breathless
and make me dizzy with desire
i am weary Sweet Love, with lies
and dream ships that lie broken
against treacherous rocks of grief
give me your now.... all i ask is now
and all your heart in this moment
lifetimes are candles in the wind
broken winged birds braving hurricanes
our bodies breathe, then breath is gone
but memories and love never desert our spirits
so hold me in this moment, and give me
all your inner and outer beauty to worship
bed all your hard years and unmet needs
in the soft warmth of my love
I know a poem is very special, even before reading it, when I am refered to it by another... such a compliment to your poetry, Belle. There is just so much to identify with here as you take us from one passionnate memory to another.
give me all your bad boy passion
your roguishness and sensuality
the part that causes you to speak
those unspeakable things a “Lady”
would be shocked to hear in public
This is just one of the many concepts of extreme love and trust that I find so truly believable. I love the way you put your thoughts into words.
Love,
Taylor
Blimey, La Belle, you just go from strength to strength... Your Poetic Vintage is only just Coming Of Age.... But nothing debutante about this delightful and soul-stirring write, that's for sure. That last stanza, for me, would work perfectly on its own, but the whole has a wonderful build to it. These lines my fav:
give me your now.... all i ask is now
and all your heart in this moment
lifetimes are candles in the wind
broken winged birds braving hurricanes
our bodies breathe, then breath is gone...
give me
all your inner and outer beauty to worship
bed all your hard years and unmet needs
in the soft warmth of my love
... and music is just MWAH, too! TY and bless you, Kate xx :))
Oh, La Belle...I am so there, to greet you two, courtesan in an untraditional way, awaiting this ship to dock, I have a wicker basket filled to the brim with wine and warm towels saturated with fresh-squeezed lemons to wash your faces...and fresh, starched 180-thread-count sheets, rose petals and tallow candles...and the sand glass is ticking...cartography maps are blushing!
Warmly,
Sage
