About the size of God!

There has been more than one person who has made a statement to the affect of, “It is useless to pray to a fictional character when we should be able to handle our problems by ourselves.” I would like to address that. We were given domain over the planet Earth. So far, our record has not been a good one. Air pollution, high crime rates, destruction of the earth’s natural resources. It makes you wonder who is the fictional being, doesn’t it?

There is more to the force that created the universe than our minds can comprehend.

There is something that is hard for us to understand about anything with no beginning and no end.

We are all guilty of whittling away at the size of God so we can form some kind of image.

However, in doing so, we have made our faith vulnerable making it not easy to heed his message.

When we turn God into something that our feeble minds can comprehend

We also make him seem more like fictional thus creating a problem we must mend.

God is not small… he is not like the tooth fairy or any such pretend being.

His is bigger than our minds can picture… he is someone we know without seeing.

He is the wind, the rain and the sky… he is the sun and the moon that shines at night.

He is also the void of outer space… the hurricane’s destructive force and the lightning’s might.

Look about you and see the force that created all of life and you thereby have truly seen the creator of us each and every one.

Know his might and respect his domain and you will join him when this life is done.

Wonderfully penned!

Who are you o' man?
Did you hang the stars...the moon...the sun...
Have you created something...out of nothing???

Hello Lew, I'm back from vacation. With regard to this poem, you're spot on my friend. Jesus is real! There is no limit to the size of our Triune God, that's for sure. On our flight back from the Dominican Republic, we encountered turbulence...twice. Everyone had to fasten their seat belts and the hostesses had to stop serving and return their carts to the back and take there seats. I prayed...oh yes, after the first, and even more during the second encounter. In my heart I heard the words, "There will not be a third turbulence..." and there wasn't. The flight after that was smooth!
I will say no more, my friend. Great write. Thank you.

God Bless
Lena

God truly is known even in the smallest grain of sand, for "All living are offspring of progeny". Great truth.
