I have reached that stage in life when I too often find my wishing that I could change many of the things in my past. That is wasted energy. We cannot change the past but we can start with the present and make positive changes for the future. This is what we need to strive for.

I wish I had used my youth with greater care and thought.

I wish I had paid more mind to my elders and to the things they taught.

I wish I were of better health today so I could be stronger and more aware.

I wish I had been more careful yesterday… my physical body not to impair.

I wish and wish and wish some more but what is done is done and past.

It is time I stopped spending so much time wishing and learn to enjoy life as long as it will last.

Wishes are easily made but rarely satisfy the mind when you are old.

If the wish one makes is to ever to come true he must have the courage to be bold.

Work for the good of all mankind and work for your children’s future lives.

For one day you will pass away and only the good you do survives.

Thank God for every day you have and live it to make a difference for generations yet to be.

Then when you stand before your maker you will know what it’s like to be free.

If you spend your life wishing but do not work to make those wishes come true

You will find that generations to come will have no reason to remember you.

Love your neighbor as yourself and love your creator with all your heart.

Be not afraid to wish but put them to work and God will do his part.

Love the snowglobe, Wishes are nice and you being a heart patient deserve all you wish for. Good advice comes through in this poem too. Look to the future and forget the past as much as you can. Life is going to get more and more for you and you will get lots more out of it. Dream on though. *********

Food for thought, Lew. Great message in your words as usual. If there is one wish for me to make, it would be that all of mankind would do the master's will..."love each other as I have loved you..."
A meaningful write, dear Lew. Keep them coming.

God Bless
Lena

When we leave planet earth we take with us the LOve we have given freely; that is all. FAITH is no longer needed; HOPE is now gone; We no longer need these tools' for that is what they are. Love we take for God is Love and we will join the saints who gave all for LOVE. So, my friend, Love is the answer; that is all. He who loves will obey the commandments of God; he will not commit grave sin. Amen 'lil flower

Lew, this is such a nice inspirational piece...no, we can't bring back our youth but, yes, we can live each day we have left and see to it that we give it the best we can.
