Hargeisa is the capital city of the breakaway republic of Somali-Land. It is where we fled to when war between insurgents and Ethiopian forces was escalating in Mogadishu, Somalia. On its sky I saw beauty today. Hargeisa is the capital city of the breakaway republic of Somali-Land. It is where we fled to when war between insurgents and Ethiopian forces was escalating in Mogadishu, Somalia. Hargeisa has been very cool, nice and extremely welcome but today it has not been good enough for me as it has evoked past romantic overtures in a heart that had virtually forgotten to live with past memories of love. I saw an eye of hope from which light rays has been flushed out.

On the sky of Hargeisa Today
I saw beauty lurking around
As heavy clouds wilted down

Behind the shadows of vapor
A hole of light has been dug in
As the sun kept gazing through

With a deeply passionate feeling
I stole a precious glance on love
As the iridescent crack widened

It was as if I was watching Jane
Greeting me from the window
As her face beamed with joy

Abdi-Noor, I don't know if Hargeisa can be a home to you and your family, but I am glad you find beauty, even in the most surpirsing places. Look for beauty, my friend, for there is the face of God; a gentle reminder that you matter so much.

Regards - Fergus

The Heart never forgets, sometimes it just needs a reminder.
