We find the cost of freedom, buried in the ground...Stephen Stills

Deep sorrow sits heavily in the hearts

Of all who love and understand freedom

For today, we reflect upon the price paid

Today we feel the pain of all we have lost

Today we weep with the loved ones of our Fallen

As a Nation, our strength and security depends

On those who have the courage to defend, us

On those who place themselves in harms way, for us

On those who are brave beyond their deepest fears, for us

And on those who have made the ultimate sacrifice, for us

Wherever there is freedom

Wherever people have the right of choice

Wherever children grow up with opportunity

The soil is stained with the blood

Of the American Soldier

Take heart, America!

Understand what we have been granted

Understand the magnitude of our loss

Understand our personal debt

For the freedom we enjoy

It is our Fallen who are the true heroes

For they defended with their life, our life

Never forget that they have left us too soon

That they served with dignity and died with honor

That each of them is the golden symbol of liberty

Know that; We should honor our Flag, as They did

Keep freedom as our absolute focus, as They did

Be proud of who we are, as They were

Hold tightly to the dreams, that They had

And then, we will begin to understand the depth of our loss

You are so right Sherry. Because without our brave men and women who defend freedom and liberty, we would not be free. I salute all those who serve, and gave their lives, so I could sit here and read this poem and give you this comment. Thank you so much for sharing, Sherry.

May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love. May He also bless the men and women of our armed forces, who are there to make sure we are safe and have the freedoms our forefathers wrote into our Constitution. May the Lord Jesus bless the families of all of those who are serving in our military, and the souls of those who gave their lives in the performance of their duty. With much love inmy heart, joy to the world, peaceon earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFULSISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your sister, Barbie

Freedom is sweet but each grave marks an empty whole in the souls of those who lost a loved one. Pray for him... pray for them.
God Bless,

Hi Sherry, this is my first visit to your site and I must say this post is a wonderful tribute to our fallen heroes. The picture and the music speaks for itself, but when accompanied by your wonderful poem, "Remember", you have created a memorial for sons, fathers, husbands, and sweethearts who have served their country and lost their lives.

If this was read with feeling and respect as an Elegy beside every grave, Sherry, I wonder how long it would take to finish the process... Now THAT might begin to give us some perspective on the magnitude of the loss and on the depth of your words. And the greatness and uniqueness of each life given up as the price paid for what we so liberally enjoy. Bless you and thank you. Kate xx

Always the young, the naive, lead the charge. If the Commander-in-Chief, followed by his/her lieutenents, led the charge like in old days when the country was at stake, less blood would be shed.

Thanks for the tribute to the fallen, Sherry.

It is very sad that we (humans) still feel the need to send soldiers to die. We have not evolved very much obviously. Thank you, Sherry. Love and peace to you,

70% of our troops have been killed by American friendly fire, which must give some indication what hell it must be in Iraq. Having many friends in the American Air Force, and those who fought for my countries liberty, I stand shoulder to shoulder, with honour for ours too...
