Firelight, not fire bright.

Firelight.

Fire flickering, darkness dancing.

Shadows advancing, people retreating.

Firelight.

Flames growing, thoughts receding

Blaze feeding, words fading.

Firelight.

Heat building, ideas crashing.

Fear controlling, sanity leaving.

Firelight.

Books blazing, babble growing.

Danger mounting, freedom falling.

Firelight.

Darkness building, souls withdrawing.

Pages floating, ashes falling.

Firelight, not fire bright.

I love that repeated statement, fire light, not fire bright. Not only do I agree with the sentiment against such censorship, but I also think we as writers fail the world if we don't use the gifts we have for the words we have been given. Creativity obviously is within the very nature of God....Jerry

The most effective form of censorship is not reading. However, that being said, I'm glad I read this: a terrible thing. As writers, we should be protesting!!!!!!!! Excellent write: keep writing/righting.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :(

WOW! Powerful and intensely distrubing. I know book burning as well the burning of CDs is still done. It's a sad and terrible thing. You handled the subject very well.

It's still hard to believe that their are some groups here in the U.S. that burn books to keep others from experiencing life. Well written on a difficult subject.

Interesting portrayal of a book burning.....Sad to see this happen.
