Growlin Guitar Blues

Growlin Guitar Blues

I listened long and hard
my eyes ablaze
the feeling strong

Funny how long
we walked and talked
just to find love

Seems the blues got me
talking lonesome
where's the lock and key

I looked long and long
couldn't see
the answer for me

The blues got a feel
like death ain't so bad
just let that guitar ring

Gotta be some love
in this old ugly world
long and long we drove
listening to those licks
and the dog howled
while the guitar growled

She was pretty
and about all I could take
seems love took a break

Her lovely legs wrapped tight
around my waist
I knew I had a fight

Seems love making
wasn't in her repertoire
so she says
just listen to that guitar
growlin & howlin
now that I love

I couldn't compete
so I learned to play the blues
seems now I'm complete

Wanta make love baby
oh yeah you vixen
now I got you crazy

So if you feel blue
like you wanta die
just listen to that guitar
growlin at the sky

Long and Long
I looked and found
a bluesy baby
to love my soul
