A poem acknowledging the beauty, blessings, and at times, bereavement, that come with our tears.

Tears of bliss and tears of pain
Each tear tumbles like the rain
One tear falls for better things
One, only when misery rings
Both tears are true facts of life
Blessing us, in joy and strife
When in joy, the tear brings hope
When in strife, each helps us cope.

Tears of triumph; tears of sorrow
Each prepares us for tomorrow
One tear shows where life can lead
One tear comforts, when we need
Both tears hold deeper emotion
Whether in peace or commotion
When in peace, each tear will soothe
When in chaos, each will move.

Tears of love and tears of loss
Their paths are certain to cross
One tear, shed at love’s first dawn
One, sadly, when love is gone
Both tears are true facts of life
Blessing us in joy and strife –
Therefore, when sunlight reappears
Be thankful for your fallen tears.

We do not know when tears will come. But they will fall for us all in time.
