Sacred Passage, Eternal Pilgrimage

In the cloudy darkness of the moon hour
I peered through the moist rain to catch a glimpse
Of flock - black feathers all toward a dense
And parting of sun, through orange and pale
Clouds which at once captured my thoughts
With jubilations. I beheld the birds
Of revelatory songs - tokens of ills
That immediately took flights away from me,
Pulling from my shell all the regiment
Of disease, condensed in the discomfort
Of sudden fracture between my frail health
And robust will. When the saving relapse
Was nursed, I stared and stood as the cloud
Reclaimed the flock in its darkened fold.
