Water running up hill

This is no rhyme but then it doesn’t have to be. All I need to do is describe a wonderful show put on by Mother Nature yesterday.

It was ten o’clock in the morning when the sun suddenly dimmed to twilight status.

Dark gray clouds had moved across the sky and their very density defied the sun to shine through.

The wind came suddenly and with a fury which caused the Yellow Maple tree to give in and lean to the east.

Then came the rain.  It did not fall but flew horizontally and when it finally did hit the ground it glided along the hardtop.

It only took a half minute before the street resembled a mountain brook.

Now when those raindrops finally landed they were like stones skipping across the water.

The very force of the wind caused the water to run to the end of the block

Some of the water turned north and rain down the steep hill to the cemetery.

Much of the water could not turn because the wind was in charge

And it was pushing the water up the hill of the next block.

Eventually as the hill grew steeper gravity began to fight the wind.

Now the water flowed to the left side of the street and back down toward the intersection.

All the time the sky was flashing with lightning and thunder was singing in base.

Finally the wind relented and the rain settled to an easy pace and stayed that way for an hour or so.

I watched in awe as I felt the power of nature show its force.

Was the thunder I heard the voice of God?

Immaculate White Smoke

Wow! Always amazing what nature is truely capable of doing. Not a force to be reckoned with. Nature's fury has been on the rise lately too! Fantastic......

Be safe,
Karen
