This is a protest poem about the war in Iraq and the George Bush administration. I penned it shortly after the January 2007 State Of The Union Address was given by George Bush. It speaks for itself.

There is silence in the boardroom
Of a corporate owned land
Where the future is held
In an unopened hand
A mission accomplished
Though the battles were lost
And a democracy declared
At so high a cost

Fighting for prosperity
And to keep evil in check
There’s a new string of pearls
Around an old woman’s neck
The son rose to shine
On a place with no light
So the whole world could see
That his father was right

There are protests in the cities
And dissention in the ranks
As ancient souls scream
Within American fuel tanks
The full metal jacket
Is the uniform of freedom
Where the battle line was drawn
In the Garden Of Eden
