Dream Power

A fantasy incident is a thing we dream about
Being with the famous
Winning the hundred million lottery
Playing the coveted role of an admired leader
Whatever you want to see happen
In our dreams we covet impossible things
In limitless ways of imagined pleasure
But what ego or insanity brings one to
Dream that he is President of the United States
For two nights in a row
Making decisions in great power moves and
Unquestioned authority toward fantasy goals
Imagine the once in a lifetime scene where
Others willingly carry out your orders
What a rush of ego along with the fear that
Some damn fool leader of a nation might
Attack our country
In the dream you are powerfully scared
When the vice president rushes into
The Oval Office yelling that
Congress has just impeached you for
Always dreaming on the job

...and the worst yet scenario is that we elect a terrorist along the way who actually takes us to the cleaners and the inferno.
It can happen!

I believe that being President of the United States of America is the ultimate ambition. The job is not enviable by any means and remains in the realm of enigma to me. I believe that from our dreams come the realities that continue to propel us as a species. Your ink had iron it it on this write dear friend.

Bill, good on you, I'd vote for you without knowing what party you belonged to, as long as we could keep dreaming.

Cheers!

Yes, dreams are wonderful, but scary. Dream or nightmare???
I, too, believe that the President has a difficult job - trying to implement the dream of freedom.
This poem of yours, let's all continue to dream,
