Of writings he did kind of dark,

He wrote of a world quite stark,

In common both in our lives have written,

He left me only his word written…

Our lives together most turbulent,

We only seemed to see each others anger,

Though the last seven years we edged towards love,

He was after all my dad thereof…

Our lives could have been better,

Closer, more loving, less pain,

But of this he did write with clarity,

With his death did come, unfortunately, familiarity…

Your father was destined to live in an age of depression and world wars. This, in itself, caused people to change and we, as kids, had no earthly idea what made them the men they were. My father was a super man. I remember him always as that!

Been there Ed. It's a strange thing the way we see each other in this life. Blame goes around all sides and the funny part is we all end up right back at the beginning. Heart tugging stuff here.

Brother Ed, it is sad that we didn't get the same father, mine was that so aloft that I don't know he was my father, but hey! at least yours showed anger.
Well done.

You made the effort..took the steps, and as your brother said some never do. A difficult thing to write about and at the same time a blessed release. Blessings, Holly

Edging towards love is much better than not even seeking to find love at all, brother. Many never even try.

I've often heard that people who are so alike oft times have time difficulty getting close, you know - opposites attract.

But, what an incredible blessing to have narrowed the gap between you and have a lasting tangible love from your father - his writings of his love for you.

Must have been difficult to write, but a loving tribute to your dad.

A beautiful tribute to your Dad. Despite the differences, there was love...well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
