Just rambling thoughts...

Life Reminders

By Felix L. Perry

Formal words on scraps of paper

Framed and polished on the wall

Collector’s books in my bookcase

I’ve read them one and all

Little things…just life reminders

From the time...we start to crawl

Pictures in worn family albums

Ornaments and dusty souvenirs

Love letters hidden in a dusty closet

Some are stained with falling tears

Little things…just life reminders

Make us believe...that someone cares

Brush my teeth look in the mirror

A stranger looks back in my place

Lines and wrinkles my hair’s graying

Looks like my mind didn’t keep pace

Little things…just life reminders

Of how we life’s great race

Experience be the salt of age and life. Fee, are we not better with age.Maybe not the old bones...however, the knowledge a blessing.

Love how you framed the theme of this work Fee, it is really a tender piece,...a gentle reminder of how time moves and perhaps slowly steals,.... but come on now my friend, remember, you are as young as you feel and still have many great things to explore...a soft reminder to you that your perspective is always rewarding and as a reader I gain rich rewards from the writing and experiences you share here. Hugs, Panda ;)

This is so heartfelt, I adore reminders of my life, but don't dwell too long, for today is just as important!
Enjoy every gray hair, every fine line, we all earned them..

I am often surprised at the face that looks back at me in mirror because that's not how I see myself. An engaging piece, Fee. Thank you. Love and best wishes,

I have, on many occasion, been labeled a nostalgia maniac...being very sentimenal about all my "Life Reminders" and what they remind me of. Each memory is unique in itself...because it's mine!

Our tokens remain untouched...frozen in time, so to speak,...but our mirrors reflect, ever changing affects...

Only through a photograph, can we freeze ourselves, but, those memories that go along with them, as time goes on and we acquire new found wisdoms, actually take on different understandings.
Thought provoking write Fee~ I could ponder on this awhile. . .

Remember~ The more we wear, the less we care. . .for its what reflects from the inside, that creates our appearances of our outside...
Loved it!
Love and Peace~
