A Drop of Rain
Clouds of darken grey covering the sky,
as a cold, sharp wind just begins to blow,
for some reason we never wonder why,
so much we see, yet so little we know.
Lives suspended in a single drop of rain,
falling from the sky into the vast ocean,
in the darkness one feels the eternal pain,
cherished moments of love and devotion.
Spring showers turn to winter’s storms,
running here and there not knowing where,
college students party in their lonely dorms,
the little we know, we often forget to share.
Lightening streaks with a sudden bright flash,
followed by the thunder’s unmistakable roar,
minds and spirits, love and hate forever clash,
the rain continues to beat with an endless pour.
Just a single drop of rain for you, and me,
bewildered by the life we often try to lead,
reflecting on what is or might come to be,
never hearing Mother Nature’s silent plead.
