The seashore...made for reflections of love...

Beach Opus Number 2007

By Felix L. Perry

Sweet are the dreams of years gone past

That kisses the memories of you and I

Acute longing for “might have beens”

Like the last of a warm summer’s sigh

The sound of surf on sand still sings

The melody of love that no one shares

Each wave now just a fading snap shot

Drifting in and out just like my tears

A driftwood log becomes my day desk

My place for me to write my second act

Sea birds sing the background music

As I compose tomorrow looking back

Twilight brings the darkness and the stars

To hide my twisted turmoil fore it starts

Alone I wonder where you strolled today

In some parallel world of broken hearts

Like a wet piece of wood, once part of a hull that traveled on the seven seas of laugh and tears and now find itself thrown and forgotten on a unknown rocky beach.
Fee, sure you haven't got salty sea water in your veins?
Great!

Something about the Sea lately!

Nice sentiments here Fee, overtones of deep longing and lonliness, which one can relate too.

Ohhhh sad! It's a heartbeat extraordinary when a poet can relate the deep sadness of love as you have here. The ocean does it to me too. I've often wondered why the attraction to the tide...is it the ebb and flow, like the heart or the saline taste like our tears?
Love,
Susan

Lost love -each wave just a fading snap shot, drifting in and out just like my tears--these lines brings back a memory of lost love, that we all never forget--very heartwarming and sad, but a lovely write for sure.
