Always By My Side

For those who believe that true love never dies and it's just the mortal body which ceases to function. (I promise something a little more cheerful next time!!)

I walked in the rain for hours
Just so my tears didn’t show
For I felt so lost and lonely
And didn’t know where to go.
I struggled to think of nothing
So the void inside my heart
Didn’t take over my thoughts
To remind me that we’re now apart.

With my spirits still very low
I ventured back to my house
Remembering all the good things
About my one and only spouse
But our home seemed really empty
Without the love I shared with you
Then you showed you were still with me
‘cos instead of one set of footprints there were two!

God is always by our side to offer love and support. True love is everlasting and does not cease when one dies.

Peace to you.
