A Shooting Star
Down the road, around the bend,
the yesterdays turn to tomorrow,
but this is now and that was then,
essence of time is only borrowed.
Moments captured from the past,
lingers in memories of our mind,
for all comes and goes not to last,
moving through corridors of time.
Over the mountain, across the field,
through valleys of iniquity we roam,
living life without a protective shield,
searching for a place to call our own.
Action and reaction, come and go,
fueled by feelings of true emotion,
precious moments lost in the flow,
hearts sad yet filled with devotion.
Shooting star streaks across the sky,
it’s radiance a rare sight to behold,
then it fades as if to say it just dies,
the end comes after the story is told.

|Sam, this is such a beautiful reminder that we can't bring back time...it all runs together...doesn't it! Some of those most precious memories...I'd like to capture & keep for as long as I live, but time snatched them up and swept them away in the wind. This is a profound and excellent poem.|

|A story worthy of sharing and so the world goes around, well done...

|Life is but a fleeting moment in time, and all that is left are the memories. Yet, while we reflect on memories, we loose what is happening, now. Amazing insight and clarity of words to describe an illusive moment.
