it is there upon first awakening
riding on the beams of sun
that slip through the
spaces between the blinds
with a freshness and purity
in the clearest of whispers
poetry…poetic words, stanzas,
phrases expertly strung and laced
smoothly flowing in ever grace
I coo and soothe in their familiarity
absorbing free form verses
of such beautification I dare not fully awake
in just that instant of comprehension
the very act of contemplation,
the perfect moment of realization
sounds of the awakened world
enter my mind
like the hum of the furnace
traffic in the distance
the rustle of the bed clothes
as my legs stretch out
from their slumbers crept
and I know from this other
world I have slept
and now take my steps
into this world filled of
