Sometimes pure treasures come our way in life and we accept them and hold them dear to us. We protect them as they are precious, rich and rare and unreplaceable. This is the case of my wonderful found friendship that I do treasure.

A Treasure So Rich & So Rare

Not a moment too soon did I hear your sigh,
As you held  me close to you in comfort I cry.
What has come over me, even I donít know,
I guess itís not often, my true feelings show.

I think of your eyes as they look into mine,
I think of our friendship, just one of a kind.
So true are the feelings that we do so share,
No true r a treasure so rich and so rare.

Just like a gold mine, I was lucky to find,
A  precious gem that was lost in time.
It sparkles, it glows, itís oh so divine,
Itís already taken, thereís just one of its kind.

Just a simple smile is all left to share,
Understanding of one whoíll always be there.
A friendship so rich and as pure as gold,
A  friendship  Iíll have forever Iím told.

Iíll still shed an occasional tear,
And look for your arms to always be there.
Iíll look for that special smile you share,
That treasure I found so rich and so rare.

Thought you might enjoy seeing one of my late wife's favorite poems, and mine too:

Oh, the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person, having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all out, just as they are, chaff and grain together, certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and with a breath of kindness blow the rest away.
