Thanksgiving day moves me

My favorite of all the working days off

Emotions held back but so very deeply felt

As I go through the day, so thankful I am

For a new home in the country

Hard work has made it truly mine

For the ability to work

And a me of whom I am proud

For my three grown children

Who walk through my door

They laugh and tease and eat and share

And then they eat some more

For my granddaughter’s joy

And my grandson Baron so dear

And two, yes two

New grand boys who will come

For my very dear friends and family

Both human and creature

Hay in the barn and grain in the bin

A turkey in the oven and 'taters in the pot

 So with a bounteous table

In this quiet country home

I am ever so grateful for this life that I have made

And for this day to reflect and give thanks

Very touching. I was moved by the joy that poured forth in each line. Truly, gratitude can only come from a thankful heart, whether it's Thanksgiving Day or just an ordinary day. And the photo, WOW! Rainbows always make me smile. Thank you, Karen for sharing.

Be well,

Makes me feel so left out...
We don't have thanksgiving here, apparently our heads of Gov didnt see the necessity for giving thanks when we finally established the colony into a nation.
However, we do have Australia comemorate 200 years of our nation, so it's a holiday, with fireworks and parties all over the country.
No sit down dinners, and no giving thanks to GOD though... Same applies in NZ, Hmmm.
Happy thanksgiving for tomorrow, pray for us, we go to the polls MEH.

Sounds like you are blessed; I know I am: last year at this time I was in the hospital; even had to spend Thanskgiving there--and no turkey; was on liquids at the time. GRRR!! I am going to make up for it this year...........*grins*
