a few thoughts
about my daughter.
she's seventeen.
named for her uncle
& me.
stepahie michael.

she's quite a young lady.
really smart, quite bright.
all A's in honors.
well rounded.
and she has a dream.

her own island.
where humans can come.
live.
communicate.
not socialist nor communist.
democratic nor autocratic.
just humans living together.
forever.
a Dream.

first it's college.
then the peace corp.
share herself.
then her Self Be.
quite a dreamer you see.

an island.

a place in the sun.
a place where poets
and lovers can run.
live life & have fun.
no killing, no guns.

now what i say next
please don't take me wrong.
i'm just an old hippie
singin' an old hippie's song.

since 911
it's snake eyes
or seven's come 11's.
roll the dice.
don't think twice.

they hate us.
we hate them.
we help they.
maybe that's why,
them wanna' play.
they want us to die.

them said they would
when they could.
and they did
what they said
they'd do.
have you walked a mile
in their shoe?

i hate killin'
but i'd fight
for family
for friend
for state
for country
for what's right.
for what might
be.
a dream you see.

an island.
there in the sun.
where poets may come
and go
as they please.
for my daughter
and her dream.

a place where
humans live.
where
humans give
of themSELF.
a place where
Life is more valuable
than Death.

she's quite a young lady.
i'm so proud.
stephanie michael
shout out loud.
scream.
dream.
scheme
with your dream.

above all
DREAM.

love- dad

( not really much effort to ryhme here. just a ramble from a ramblin' man.

please don't get mad. it's only thoughts put to words. please STOP THE HATE.-me)

A tribute to a cherished daughter; rambling hippie's still carry a tune! Next thing you know, Steph will take you to the moon. Ha! :)
This is really nice!
