The FIRST Edition of my songbook: "Across the Sea of Madness" is published in print copy at MY STOREFRONT (JzCDz.com) at Lulu. And lulu at least gives you a storefront, more than most publishers! They also don't take more than 25% of your profit (IF you every sell to this celebrity & cred-a-bility bound public!) I guess I need more friends (cats don't buy)
This is as close as you'll get in this edition to a song-sheet of mine. I take this chance only because I will be releasing this song as a single after New Year's at JzCDz.com. As soon a ALL MY JAZZ is posted for sale. That comes first and hope to wrap it up by New Year's Eve. Stop in and AT LEAST ahave a look and a listen (previews) at my new Storefront. The graphics are great as usual.
(Don't kid yourself, I'm keeping the melody to myself for now. It is superb.
Once my 2008 CD is made, I will revise my songbook to include leadsheets.
{I wish my self survival, I have to!)

All My Bridges Have Been Burned

piano/vocal vs. of Aug 1997> KEY: begins in F then modulates

In a Steady, easy going four, chords on quarter notes

Intro>          Fmaj9/g bass

1. Now Iím // standing here at the borderline, //

F                  Amin      Dm     Gm  Am7  Bbmaj 9             Between the dark // night ....and    the // light of day. //

And the // Road.... back..... is such  //a long and lonely way. //

./.(repeat instru. Line> [G,A,C,D,C,A,G,F] //

But as lifeís  // River    runs its course through time.....   //

I see // All my bridges have been // burned---

(rhythm comp one bar)

And If I could turn back the hands of time...

Oh, would I turn back the hands of time?

And the // Road back is such a long and lonely way.

2.>[Mod= G major >

To see the price paid for lessons lived and learnedĖ

But as lifeís rivers // run their course through time,

Now Iíve come to take my turn,

And All  My  Bridges  Have  Been  Burned...

All my bridges.... burned // And If I could turn back..... time, etc.

VERSE #3 (All My Bridges....)

3.> (more like a chorus or contrasting verse, mid 8)

All my bridges have been burned...

Iíve crossed a few, Iíve lived and learned.

Blue skies have turned, from sun to rain

Then changed from black, back to blue again

[BREAKLINE}

And the Road Iím on.....

Leads me back to the river,

A backward glance only shows the long way Iíve come.

4.> (imitates opening lines but here in a new key (G major?)

Now Iím standing here at the borderline -

Between the Devil and the Deep Blue (Sea)

And the way home, is a rough and rocky road..

And If I could turn back the hands of time...

Oh, would I turn back the hands of time?

            [sudden break music pauses, then:]

                                    Ö oh, yes I would.

ending(in f major)

Now Iím standing here at the borderline......

(Open ended on vocal then the instruments close on this cadence:)

F major (One held chord followed by the bass note on a low F) //end.

Dad gum it. Everytime I tried to burn a bridge, the troll came out from under it and put the fire out. Very frustrating.
Merry Christmas, Mike

Guy this is so beautiful and filled with lessons we could all learn from. Sometimes looking back is not the way to go, then again, sometimes it is.....

Be safe,

Love this, this will be a hit because many people can relate to the lyrics of this song, and that is what makes for a good song-writer.

...when a bridge is burned...the distance to travel is longer than thought to ones destination...but wisdom finds new paths and new bridges are built and treated with respect...and this time knows.
