Lisa's Christmas Love Box reached Bill as he faces the daily Hell of war. Please pray for our brave warriors and their familes, War Is Heartbreak Hell.
My Darling Lisa,
I received your Love Box, just today,
It touched me more then words can say.
While looking at the pictures and reading your letter, I couldn't hold back my tears,
I felt that you and little Billy were right here.
Billy is growing into a little man,
When he took his first step, I am sorry I wasn't there to hold his hand.
I shared the cookies with the other guys, they were a big hit,
They were gobbled up, every little bit!
I showed your picture around and was told that I was a lucky man,
Your Love Box was a Slice Of Heaven for me in this wasteland.
Your sweater embraced me, like your gentle touch,
I want you to know that I treasure it so much.
Remember, I told you about my buddy Cal, he got killed today,
He died in my arms and all I could do was pray.
Death always seems to be walking at my side,
You can never out run it and there is no place to hide.
Tell the folks at home that we are doing our best,
Everyday that we survive, we have past bravery's test.
Baby, I so long to hold you tight,
My body aches for you every night.
Well, My Darling, I love you and little Billy, more then I can say,
Please try to have a Merry Christmas Day.
I Love You, Bill

This is such a tender heartbreakingly written poem. It is almost like you are inside the mind of Bill...

|Death always seems to be walking at my side,
Poinient look inside the mind of a GI. I can promise you that you don't know how close you really are with this. If I didn't know better I would say youve seen combat. I love my Sissy.
