My sister shared with me her fears of being weak as she struggled with her fears surrounding her treatments and hospital stays. I looked up some words to describe how i see her in this battle;
Strength: The ability to last or resist
Noble; having or showing very good character
virtue: what is good
Honorable: worthy of being respected
Valor: Courage and bravery in battle

Please donít feel that your tears make you weak

Or that sharing your fears make you less

Know, dear one, that true bravery is found

In the ability to share those honest and true emotions

And to give each sentiment its due

To deny they exist, or hold them at bay

Would be the only cowardice

So much bravery shrouds your persona

And true valor you demonstrate each day you do battle

With this cancer who has dared

Raise its ugly head, in the presence of one so true

You hold your noble self tall

And with great dignity you carry on

Showing virtue and honor true

I must say to you I am honored

That you have shared with my humble self

A bit of your fears and some of your tears

As your battles ebb and flow

With my great confusion of all that just is

I am there with you in spirit,

Can you feel me, Iím holding your hand

show and tell

Karen, your voice allows this reader to feel the fears and honesty your sister has shared with you. It is comforting to her to know she has you to listen & to console her during this trying period in her life. She will never forget your kindness and your kind ear for listening...there will always remain a solid bond between you two. I pray she will come through all of this in flying colors...my heart goes out to the both of you. God Bless

I view two souls who are the brave ones here...I have walked the same path, though many years past, still it takes great courage and honest emotions to walk a path alongside a soul, friend, relative, son, daugther, mother, father...a brave soul who is being held by one so brave as herself...

My Best and My Prayers to the both of you...

Love and Peace...

Karen,

It's those facing adversity who prove their strength, the resolve they didn't know was inside them comes forth and takes my breath away. I always thought my twin sis was the weaker of the two: when she was in hospital at the end of 2006, she showed me! Numerous tests and painful procedures; three surgeries in four days...I couldn't have done it. She's my warrior. :) A powerfully thought provoking, inspiring write; (((HUGS))) and prayers to you and your sis.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
