“Time spent with any cat,

Is never wasted.”

It’s been nearly four years now

Since I found them behind a factory

The place was boarded up and deserted

Here, they would no longer be dining free

I started bringing these two some food

And I named them Munchkin & Tuxedo

They were soul mates down on their luck

And they had nowhere else they could go

When the frigid arctic blasts of winter came

I built them a snug little shelter from the cold

And here, these two feline soul mates are content

To be together here, living free, and growing old

We have formed a very trusting relationship now

They always recognize the sound of my old truck

And they always come happily racing from the woods

Knowing at least one human has brought them a little luck

About two years ago, Munchkin & Tuxedo had several children

Which they let me care for, and I soon found them all good homes

I’ve since trapped, neutered, and returned these two soul mates here

They have definitely decided to live out their lives here, and not roam

I often worry and fret about them when the icy winter winds blow

But they seem happy, just to be together, living here free and bold

And if you would like to learn how you can help feral cats like them

Please visit The Alley Cat Allies website, which I have linked below

Killing Our Nation’s Feral Cats,

Shouldn’t Be Our National Policy;

Through Absolutely No Fault of Their Own,

These Creatures Were Born, Both Wild and Free

Please Spay and Neuter Your Own Pets,

And Support TNR (Trap, Neuter, and Return);

Feral Cats, Just Like All Other Beings On Earth,

For a Chance at Living Out Their Lives, Truly Yearn

Why do people hate feral cats? They may be pesty but they need food and shelter like any other living thing. Catching, spaying, and neutering is really the answer that way they wont breed and bear more lonely feral cats just trying to survive.

You saved more than 2 lives here. The kittens will surely give life to those who adopted them.

How lucky these guys are to have found you. I got two red ones. 'Starsky & Hutch'and they live in our barn.
I agree with Colette's opening. It's never a waste of time to be with a cat.

When we lose sight of human life in such acts as abortion what chance have we that our critters will be cared for also or do we place a higher value on them, than a human baby?
Reviewed by Felix Perry 1/8/2008
I agree there should be a better way.

This is sooo cute! Even if i'm not a big fan of cats, being scratched and bitten by one when I was 6, I do find them so soft and huggable. And so are you, Mr. Ed, for having such a big heart! Thank you for sharing this gift.

Be well,

God surely smiles upon you for all your efforts. Over the years I have had many cats and dogs, none have ever been spayed or neutered and non have ever been declawed, but all have lived happy, healthy, full lives with no offspring. Always understood it as a matter of responsibility....

Be safe,

Thank you for sharing.

The humane shelter where we got Rufuz from has a "feral" room for those cats abandoned by humanity...and the woods behind and around the campground I live in is inundated with a small "herd" of cats that most of the neighbors, including me, feed and such through the winter months... Better to have cats around than rats...Ed & Rufuz

I'm with you, Ed. They didn't ask to be turned out, to have to fend for themselves: it's no wonder they mistrust humans. :( I had one feral kitty, his name was Dipstick. Took me a year to gain his trust, he was one of the best cats I ever had. :( He was killed accidentally - I miss the little guy. :(

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :(

I love it Ed, and I'm with you 100%. We trap, spay and neuter and either set free or keep until homes are found for them. Sadly, we are at 21 cats now because new homes are hard to find these days. We have Lexie, Tigger, Chancee, Smidgee(the red nosed kitty), Smokey, Blaze, #8, Baby Momma, Bear, Rita, Fluffee, Itty Bitty, little boy, Wiskers, Smut, F1, F2,and A,B,C,D (all new kittens) and we love 'em all! Thanks for all that you do to help. *Glen*
