Feed the Fire

Inside us all
a fire
at times, a flickering flame
barely alive
smoldering in a Smokey haze
upward trail, rising

if we honor the fire, by
nurturing and listening
we will feel the crackle, as
our cells are replaced
peeling away from the darkness
burning hotter and brighter
into a run-away-- reaction, crashing through silent
in booming thunder clap
a shining star

In us all
hidden under that cold blanket of
the ember waits
Feed the fire
feed the fire

reminds me of an Ani DiFranco song 'a fire just waiting for some fuel'. ..
feels more like a star [nebulous and imploding/exploding/expanding...burning]; that hot gaseous wonder, so morphing, so shaping, so wondrous....but not quite reachable, tangible....inside of us all, and what would happen if we just let a gentle breeze, the fuel, the oxygen... carry/bend the flame? would that breeze be more likely to come from another soul? breath of heaven. ....
there is nothing more warming, more calming than a fireside. .. .a candle; and nothing more ominous or ragingly beautiful than a wildfire.. .spreading. ...engulfing...
where did i put my matches???
smouldering indeed. ..
i miss your words already :{
keep writing
keep. .. .
that fire lit. ..
