A Man Named Jay

I climbed the highest mountain

I looked both far and wide

I didn't know what I was searching for

But something was missing deep inside.

I finally descended the mountain

My spirits were dark and low.

Then like a light he found me

A beacon, all aglow.

Hair the color of sunshine

A smile so bright and kind

Smiling eyes, a gentle voice

He put his hand in mine.

He told me things I'd longed to hear

While his eyes continued to smile

He gently stroked my silken hair

And held me for a while.

His lips were sweeter than the finest wine

His hair was soft as silk

His touch was warm and gentle

He truly is a gift.

He demanded nothing from me

Except the promise of my heart

I gladly gave it to him

For rescuing me in the dark.

This man that I speak of

I'm not quite sure he's just a man

He seems more like an angel

Every time I hold his hand.

What's his name, you ask?

What did I need that day?

To be found by a man such as this

A man named Jay.
