Have you ever looked back and thought, gee if I had only started this when I was young..., whether it is your hobbies, having a family, a career, writing, acting etc? That is what this write is about.

Peaking Oversold

By: Fee

Fame foothold

I’ve been often told

My song maybe going gold

My best selling book all but sold

Movie contract, a screen play bold

Worst comes to worst make me a centrefold

Just need to make enough for my billfold

My name known in each household

Golden star above my threshold

A lovely sight just to behold

But sadly I’m getting old

Maybe time to fold.

Feeling cold.

Yes..I can relate to this, but sometimes not having the luxury of youth any more can be the greatest motivator to finally getting things done. Love, Diana.

Excellent thoughts here, one I think all us old-timers can relate too. I like the way it sort of rises, peaks in the middle and then tapers back down, just like life itself. Well-done, Felix. ~ Sara

Even old timers can dream eh? me thinks so Fee ;)
age does, as Leland said, 'ferments and mellows

A mesh of humor and truth. I agree with Sheila's sentiments. Experience for a writer, like a fine wine, needs to ferment and mellow to reach prime.

When you are dead...that's when you're too old to shoot for a dream. Though, I know the feeling you write about and it can oftentimes be overwhelming. For me, writing is the dream. I don't think my writing would have been much to share had I pursued it twenty years ago. Life experience only enriches one's work. Your works are dynamic, creative, and skillfully to be proud of. To me, that is success. Grab the closest mirror, give the tongue a cluck, point at your reflection, and say, "You the man!" Love and Hugs~

Felix as you know in my eyes you are a success with everything you have put your hand or mind to. You will never too old to fold. Great write, thank you for sharing.

Fee, I am world famous in my house, my nearest neighbor don't know my name, that should tell something.
Have a peaceful Easter.

When your feeling cold, old and all but rolled into a nice little fold, stretch out for that sexy centerfold looking at the camera with mischevious eyes bold, and never put a for sale sign on your threshold saying sold, for your words ring out like waves of gold beautifully caught as blessings to behold!

Insomnia and a quirky mood has me responding to your touching poem with a twisted reply back and an apology in advance if I broke some breach of writers etiquette and since I'm just a baby poem writer I know you'll forgive me! Deborah:)

Brilliantly written and a lot of truth within the title. Often people look for that "peak" in life while missing out on the adventure that surrounds us."The goal is the journey" as someone said.Your verse cleverly forms the shape of a peak too, adding to the perceived irony, but I agree with Kathy - the hand is too strong to fold in the true sense! Well done and thank you.

We all get discouraged from time to time...but never "fold"...never give up! The dreams are what keep us alive!

Centerfold you say? Interesting thought. As the Kenny Rogers song says 'know when to hold them and when to fold them.' Your hand is too strong to fold. Enjoy life's game, my friend.

God bless you. Kathy
