Easter Sunday with the Pattersons and friends

As the golden sun rose in the east, the sky was illuminated with the glory of Gods light.

The lake danced with small silver ripples that eased toward the shore line.

A gentle balmy breeze was blowing through the pines and mallaukas that stood on the lake's edge.

Our worries of rain left and I silently said a prayer of thanks for the sunny, beautiful day.

Each year we have an egg hunt for the kids and eat outside .
The men set up tables and chairs by the lake. We were expecting 35 to 40 people for dinner.

Much of the food had been prepared the day before, and each famly was bringing something.
As guests and family members arrived
we happily welcomed them .

About 1pm all the children were made to come inside , while adults hid plastic eggs filled with candy and money in the yard and bushes.

What fun it was to watch the kids
running around trying to find eggs!
After the hunt was offically over and the last bits of change had been counted, it was time for dinner.

Everyone helped carry food to a large table under the canopy and found a place to sit. Two hams,a turkey many salads, veggies, mashed potatoe, and beverages filled the table with ample amounts of food.

Grandpa Judson said a special prayer of thanks and blessings , as we bowed our heads in silent homage.

Dinner was a time of laughter and comrodoriary. As I watched my children and grandchildren, feeling of happiness and peace enveloped me. My husband and I took delight in watching their facial expressions, gestures, voices and laughter. I knew we had been blessed beyond measure for all God had bestowed upon us. It was a day I will always cherish.

After we ate , everyone helped to clean up . Then all relaxed and enjoyed the rest of the day.

No one knows what each new day will bring or what is ahead of them. Perhaps this Easter was more special , because I don't know what my mind will be like next year. I don't know how fast this disease will hit me.
I try to live each day to the fullest and I pray daily for a cure.......

I hope all of you had a nice Easter, and that our Lord will walk with you every day and keep you in his tender care.

What a delightful Easter Day!! Hunting for those little eggs was always the big thing. Although, those eggs had to be hidden up high enough that the dogs didn't sniff them out. Wonderful memories for your family to keep! Love your descriptive writing!

Smiles,
Dorothy
