What is it like, Dad,
Oe’r heaven’s eternal veil?
Do God’s winged angels,
Through the skies of paradise sail?
Do you breathe
Only of the purest air?
Do you sit and gaze upon
Magnificent scenes so fair?
Have you spoken with your father,
And your lost friends too?
Have there been moments for yourself
To sit and admire the view?
Do you, in those moments
Which surely are so rare,
Have time to think of me,
And all the moments we shared?
I wish for you a perfect heaven,
As only heaven should be,
No pain, no worry;
No unpleasant
Memories.
But I am surely lost without you,
In my every day,
It happens when I think about you,
And all the plans we made.
A glorious reunion
I am sure is what will be,
When all my days are oe’r,
And my spirit has finally been set free.
A new chapter will be written,
A new eternity foretold,
Of father and son together,
As forever once again grows old.

| Glad you are so sentimental a writer and can understand god's ways are not our ways and he is taking care of our loved ones in heaven but your writings are an inspiration of us to keep hoping and keep faith in our God. |

| Beautifully written, and I have to say that I agree with Cryssa. There have been times when I miss my son so deeply, and I will find a photo or a book that I had forgotten about, and it's almost as though it's a way to let me know that he's aware of the struggle. |

Like the photo, this poem catches your gaze...and holds it.

I have no doubt that those on the other side of the veil can see us and in times of need they can help us. I remember a poignant experience not so long ago when I was questioning some of these same things in regards to my mother who passed away 18 months ago. I was going through some very difficult things in my life and just really felt the need for her advice and comfort. I guess more than anything I just needed to know that someone loved me... :~) Later that day, I turned the radio on as I was driving somewhere and there was a song that came on that said almost the exact words I had been praying to hear from her.
May your heart find peace until you are reunited with your father on the other side...

Offerings so heartfelt and so many questions left unanswered. Know in your heart and soul he just has to be proud of you and helps to guide you through....
Be always safe,

Beautifully imaged, one can't imagine the glories awaiting - and to be in the presence of passed loved ones, and in the presence of the King of kings and Lord of lords just amazes me. :) Well done!
(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. |

So many questions about the other side of that veil, aren't there? But I'll bet he often thinks of everyone he loves. I'm no expert, but I've heard so many stories...you've heard them too...how people come back from there with more determination to spend time with those they love-- to be kinder, gentler, more selfless... I'll bet he's looking over you and feeling a lot of pleasure.
Take care. --Charlie |
